This was a very interesting allegory … but I’m not sure what exactly the little girl represented.
I wasn’t sure whether she represented this new republic – young, inexperienced and needing guidance as she grows. Or whether the leaders of this new republic should approach their new positions with the same innocence and openmindedness of a young child – not pretending to have all the answers, seeking guidance when it was needed, keeping their intentions pure.

Very interesting concept either way.
I agree, the intention wasn’t completely clear. But it struck me as a particularly “Italian” take on their leadership needs.
